Our Editorial Team
The people who write, test, and fact-check every repair guide.
Fix My Home Tips is written by a small team of experienced home renovators, DIY enthusiasts, and editors who have spent years actually doing the repairs we write about. Below is who we are and what we bring to every guide.
🔧 Home Repair Expert Editor-in-Chief & Lead Writer
Our lead editor has spent over 15 years renovating houses, working alongside licensed plumbers, electricians, and carpenters to understand the right way (and the easy way) to do home repairs. Every guide on Fix My Home Tips passes through editorial review for accuracy, safety, and clarity before publication.
Areas of expertise: Plumbing repairs, basic carpentry, drywall and plaster work, weatherproofing, kitchen and bathroom renovations, DIY safety.
🛠️ Product Review Team Product Researchers & Hands-On Testers
Our product reviews are written by a team that physically tests tools and home products in real homes, on real repair jobs. We do not accept paid placements, free units in exchange for positive reviews, or sponsored "reviews". Every recommendation on the site reflects our genuine opinion of what is worth your money at each price point.
Categories tested: Power tools, plumbing fixtures, kitchen appliances, cleaning equipment, garden tools, smart home devices, organization products.
✓ Fact-Checking & Safety Review Independent Verification
Before any guide goes live, a second editor reviews it for technical accuracy and safety. We are particularly strict about anything involving electricity, gas, or structural elements, where we always direct readers to a licensed professional rather than provide DIY instructions that could cause harm.
Our safety policy: If a repair has a meaningful risk of injury, fire, gas leak, electrical shock, or significant property damage, we tell you to stop and call a licensed professional. We never publish instructions that prioritise cost savings over safety.
How We Stay Anonymous
You may notice we have not named individual team members publicly. This is intentional. Our team has chosen to keep personal identities private to protect against the kind of online harassment that has affected other publishers in the home improvement space. The choice to write under a collective editorial identity does not affect the quality, accuracy, or fact-checking process behind each guide.
If you are a journalist, partner, or industry contact who needs to verify our credentials directly, please email fixmyhometips@gmail.com and we will be happy to provide background privately.
✓ Editorial Standards Last Reviewed: June 2026
Our editorial standards, fact-checking process, and team page are reviewed and updated quarterly to ensure they reflect current practice.
