Gutters protect your roof, walls, and foundations from water damage. When they break, water overflows and causes serious problems.
Fix 1: Clearing a Blocked Gutter
Remove debris by hand wearing rubber gloves. Flush with a garden hose from the far end toward the downpipe.
Fix 2: Repairing a Leaking Joint
Clean the joint thoroughly. Apply fresh gutter repair sealant inside the joint. Use gutter repair tape over the joint on the outside for added protection. Allow 24 hours to cure.
Fix 3: Fixing a Sagging Gutter
Replace the broken fascia bracket. Use a spirit level to ensure the correct fall toward the downpipe before tightening.
Fix 4: Patching a Crack or Hole
Clean and dry the damaged area. Apply self-adhesive waterproof gutter repair tape over the crack. For larger holes use a gutter repair kit.
Fix 5: Unblocking a Downpipe
Feed a drain rod down from the top of the downpipe. Flush thoroughly once clear.
