Most kitchen tap problems are caused by worn internal components that cost a few dollars to replace.
Fix 1: Fix a Dripping Tap
Turn off water under the sink. Remove the tap handle. For a washer tap — replace the rubber washer at the bottom of the stem. For a cartridge tap — pull out the tap cartridge and take it to a hardware store to match the replacement.
Fix 2: Fix Low Water Pressure
Unscrew the aerator at the tip of the tap nozzle. Soak in white vinegar for 30 minutes. Scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse and reattach.
Fix 3: Fix a Tap That’s Hard to Turn
Disassemble the tap and locate the O-ring around the stem. Replace it with a new O-ring the same size and apply a small amount of plumber’s grease before reassembling.
